Responsibilities: Thomas the team captain will be in charge of the design and implementation of an effective endurance drive train as well as acting as team manager.
Personal: Thomas nicknamed "TJ" is studying Mechanical Engineering in the hope to explore a fulfilling career working as a design engineer. Thomas has also worked as an intern for Linear photonics designing enclosures for fiber optic systems and test equipment. During his time at TCNJ he was a four time NCAA All-American athlete in springboard diving as well as volunteer assistant coach for Blue Dolphin Diving inc. Thomas also enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, and skiing. These passions led to his desire to be involved in the solar splash competition.
Brian Graham
Responsibilities: Brian will be designing, testing, and building this year's hull. The previous hull was designed and fabricated in 2009 and it is believed that a new hull is necessary to break into the top spots at this year's competition.
Personal: Brian is a Senior Mechanical Engineering student at TCNJ who hopes to continue his studies into graduate school or begin a career in R&D. He has interned at Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics, Hutchinson Industries, and Stryker. At TCNJ, Brian is active in the school community. He is the current President of the Ultimate Frisbee Team and the Treasurer of the ASME Student Chapter.
Manthan Kothari
Responsibilities: Manthan will be in charge of designing and fabricating the endurance and sprint propellers. Previous years used mostly commercially available products. It is believed that custom propellers are necessary to achive maximum performance.
Personal: Manthan is a senior Mechanical Engineering student aspiring to pursue a graduate degree in Aerospace Engineering and then work in the Aerospace industry. He has interned at Linear Photonics designing enclosures for sensitive, high performance, fiber optic communication systems. He is a former Ultimate Frisbee player with Brian and Kyle and is currently working as a Community Advisor in the senior housing. He is also the President of the TCNJ American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) student chapter.
Kyle Orr
Responsibilities: Kyle will be in charge of the design and implementation of the sprint drive train and steering system.
Personal: Kyle is studying Mechanical Engineering in hopes of enlisting in the United States Coast Guard after graduation. While at TCNJ he has interned at Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics. Outside of the classroom, Kyle is an Eagle Scout and has been a volunteer counselor at the RYLA leadership for four years. He has also been a member of the Revolution the men's club Ultimate Frisbee team.
Tyler Wardlow
Responsibilities: Tyler is in charge of telemetry and power systems for this year's boat.
Personal:Tyler Wardlow is a senior computer engineering student at The College of New Jersey. He is president of the TCNJ student chapter of The Institue of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). After graduation, he plans to enter the workforce, while pursuing a master's degree part-time. Outside of class, he enjoys video games, reading, and spending time with his friends and family.
